Life Anew

It’s Saturday and I feel refreshed. I slept well, I didn’t get up until I was ready and it’s a sunny day. This has prompted several things.

  1. A blog entry. Not done one of these without a specific topic for a while, and it, at last, feels good to be doing one again.

  2. My sash window is a pain at the best of times to open but this morning it has been forced open all the way. This evening I shall probably have to put just as much effort into closing it, but that’s life, eh?

  3. It’s time to move furniture again. Not a drastically as last time as the basic plan is good now, but the desk needs a new place. I have also vowed to empty two boxes that I can’t find good places for.

  4. Cleaning will happen. Somehow.

  5. Domestic things will be bought. This is very, very dull and shouldn’t have even been mentioned.

When these tasks have been completed I shall more on to my second set.

  1. Paint more Little Men. I now have 5 requests, 4 of which must be delivered next weekend.

  2. Fix Lilblu

  3. Play with VB.NET

I appreciate that this second set may confuse non-regular readers but if you really want to know ask and I’ll explain.

Spot the Lobsterman…

After a weekend in Brussels I am return-ed.

Now many of you have been told that whilst in Brussels I may have spent just a few too many minutes in the sun and gone just a tad more pinkish than I normally appear. as you can see from this ‘ere photo, it is complete bollox. I am a good, healthy, pasty white. OK, I might just have a hint of a flush on my arms, but other than that I’m the normal colour for an Englishman.

So where Zoe got the idea that I was Mr Lobsterhead from is a mystery to me. And the fact that I totally failed to get a good photo of her cleavage (which Andy described as not dis-similar to a lobsters arse) is nothing more than unfortunate.

Click the photo above to see all the things that I took photos of in May 2009.

Pigeon Nest Building - FAIL

This is the top of the stairs that come up to my landing. To the left of the picture is a window that we generally keep open.

Several times I’ve come up the stairs and heard a bird fly away. I kinda assumed that the bird as just looking in the window for a dry place to sit, but it would appear that the little sod was entering with intent. Not much intent, but enough to lay an egg. I thought that pigeon eggs would have been bigger than that, but apparently not.

Just in case it’s not quite clear exactly how little building took place before the egg was laid…

I’m ‘ard, I am.

I could survive for 1 minute, 28 seconds chained to a bunk bed with a velociraptor

It would appear that I’m even harder than The Projectivist. She is more lovely than hard though. I too am lovely, but maybe not quite as lovely as she is.

So, if loveliness is important in life, she’ll win and if the velociraptor enters the room, it’ll be me making it out of the door first…

Rest in Peace

Last time in was in the UK I had to take my daughter (Megan) for a haircut. Since we were staying with my parents, we decided to frequent the local salon. I’m all for giving my custom to small businesses provided they do make some effort to compete with the big companies. If they are more expensive then I expect better service or convenience. Yous pays your money and takes yours choice…

Anyway, the hairdressers is opposite the village church and we decided to drive up and park in the church car park. After spending an hour getting a considerable amount of hair removed in what I was to learn was not a haircut (£15) but a restyling (£29) we decided on a quick wander around the churchyard. I only had my pocket camera with me but it was a nice day and I like gothic stuff.

Click through to the album and not only will you see a lot of grave stones, you’ll also see the restyling.
